IMMP Sampling Frame

The Integrated Monarch Monitoring Program (IMMP) collects data on milkweed, nectar plants, and monarch use across various land-use types and regions. IMMP volunteers survey large plots of land at different times throughout the breeding season, depending on the data being collected.

This sampling frame kit includes all parts needed to assemble a 1.0 m x 0.5 m sampling frame for IMMP surveys.

Kit Includes:

• Six 0.5 meter lengths of 1/2 inch (approx. 1.3 cm) PVC pipe
• Four 90° elbow joints
• Two straight connectors

Assembly:
Use the 90° elbow joints to form two “U” shapes. Connect the two “U” shapes using the straight connectors to create a rectangular frame. See diagram and product images for reference.
