New England Aster Plants, 10 Pint Flat

Natural Communities will start shipping orders the final week of May. They will ship orders on Mondays through the entire Summer. 

Make your yard into a beautiful monarch habitat! Grow native nectar plants to complement milkweed.

This flat of 10 pint-size New England Aster (Symphyotrichum novae-angliae) plants is for planting as far west as Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri and Arkansas, and as far south as Arkansas, Tennessee, and Georgia. Consult the shipping map on this page to confirm your state falls within the shipping zone. 

This flat will cover about 10-20 square feet of garden space. Consider purchasing milkweed and other nectar plants to provide long-lasting pollen and nectar for monarchs and other pollinators. 

Large purple daisy-like flowers with yellow centers cover New England Aster in late summer. A large, bushy aster, it can reach around five feet high. New England Aster may also sport lavender or light pink blossoms. It's commonly found in prairies and savannas and tolerates a wide range of soils. Asters are key pollinator plants that provide a welcome source of late-season nectar. Numerous moths use them as larval hosts, and monarchs will fuel up on New England Aster nectar during their fall migration.
